Global Coal Power Plants

Coal remains the single largest source of CO₂ emissions from electricity generation. This tracker covers operating, under-construction, and announced coal-fired power plants worldwide, with capacity, fuel type, and technology detail. Phase-out commitments are accelerating in Europe and parts of Southeast Asia, but new capacity continues to be added in China, India, and Indonesia. Coal mines covers the supply side. Coal-intensive electricity is within scope of the EU CBAM when embedded in covered goods.
