Upstream oil supply

The physical base of crude supply: oil and oil-and-gas extraction fields worldwide, the upstream twin of the refinery status map. This is the assets layer; a monitored-disruption overlay (hurricane shut-ins, field outages, sanctions) follows, the way the refineries page tracks damage downstream.

The disruption overlay

The refineries page is two things: a map of assets and a curated, decaying record of what is offline. This page is the first half for upstream. The second half, a monitored-outage layer, is next: operator-reported hurricane shut-ins from BSEE (real, quantified percentages of Gulf production), plus field force majeure, sanctions and strikes on fields and export terminals, curated with the same 90-day decay as the refinery event set.

measured The dots are the installed base from GOGET. When the overlay lands, this page becomes the physical source for the crude-supply node on the tension board, production from the fields, minus what is monitored offline.

Field locations, status and attributes from GEM's Global Oil and Gas Extraction Tracker (CC BY 4.0). Per-field oil production is joined from GOGET's field-level production sheet (latest data year, oil plus condensate). It covers only fields GOGET discloses, so the ~67 mb/d total here is a lower bound on world crude, not the full figure.
